2020 Torch FC Staff & Player Expectations

Because of your desire to serve the Lord through the ministry of the BuxMont Torch, we ask that you commit yourself to grow in your faith through daily personal devotions, and to whole-heartedly involve yourself in all the activities associated with this ministry. These activities include, but are not limited to: practices, games, sports ministry sessions, discipleship meetings, promotional activities, and outreach ministry opportunities.

The members of the BuxMont Torch Ministry Team are highly visible representatives not only of the organization but, more importantly, of Jesus Christ. Years of hard work building a testimony in our community and in our league can be undone in a few unguarded moments. For this reason, we ask you to commit to the following for the duration of your involvement:

"But be doers of the Word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves" (James 1:22).

"Finally, brothers, pray for us that the message of the Lord may spread rapidly and be honored" (2 Thessalonians 3:1).

"1If you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from His love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others. Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus" (Phil. 2:1-5).

"Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry" (Colossians3:5).

If married, I commit to faithfulness to my spouse. "Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure" (Hebrews 13:4).

"Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen" (Ephesians 4:29).

“Do everything without complaining or arguing so that you may become n=blameless and pure children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation in which you shine like starts in the universe as you hold out the word of life” (Philippians 2:14-16a).

"So that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ" (Philippians 1:10).

"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving" (Colossians 3:23-24).
